Wildflower meadows

These are mixture of grass and wild flowers that you sow onto bare earth. They contain mainly perennial wildflowers which will come back and flower each year. Over time creating attractive havens for wildlife such as bees and butterflies. The mixtures are designed to match soil types or conditions. The grass is important as a back drop for the wildflowers.

100% Wildflower seed mixes

These are versions of the wildflower meadow mixes but with no grass 100% wild flower seed. Again they will match soil types or conditions. They can be sown into grass if it is poor and thin and contains little or no perennial ryegrass. They can be sown into bare earth but work best then is smaller areas.

Wildflower border mixes

These are designed for small areas in the garden. They contain simple 100% wildflower mixes. They can be used where you want to attract specific insects such as Bees or butterflies. Or for other benefits such as creating a scented border or a small shady area. You sow them at 2 grams per square metre.

Cornfield Annual seed mixes

Cornfield annuals bring a dramatic show of colour to the garden. Built round species such as poppy, cornflower, corn marigold and corn cockle. They have blues, red, purple and yellow flowers. They will generally only last one year but are very striking. It can work well mixing in a small amount of cornfield annuals with a meadow mix giving it some success in the first year.

Wildflower plants

We offer a wide range of wildflower plants. These are nearly all perennials.

You can buy individual species here adding a specific varieity to bring a colour or look you like. All our plants are grown in the UK semi-outdoors. We send them out between Mid September and the end of April. They can be planted straight into the plot or grown on if you prefer.

Wildflower plant mixtures

It is possible that you want to introduce plugs but are not sure which species you should plant. Our plug plant mixtures are a great cost effective way to get round this. We have designed a range of mixes of appropriate plugs to cover a range of soil types and aims. Simply choose those that suit your needs best. Work on planting about 5 plugs per square metre to make an impact.

Wildflower seed packets

You can buy small seed packets of a wide range of wildflower species from us. These can work well if you have a small area that you want to introduce a species to. Many customers buy these to grow on their own plugs which they can then plant on once established.

Wildflower seed in bulk

Sometimes you want to buy a larger quantity of an individual species than just a 1 gram seed packet. We also offer a range of species where you can buy them in multiples of 10 grams, 100 grams and even 1 kilo of seed. This works where you want to make a real impact on larger areas of new or existing meadows.
